Nic is a mum of 3 and an award-winning digital education specialist. Nicole Ponsford is the CEO and Co-Founder of The Gender Equality Collective. She is an educational and technology thought leader, a Harvard author (TechnoTeaching), award-winning teacher, TES columnist and EdTech50 Judge. Nicole believes that technology is the great equaliser for our time. Nicole has taught new technologies in the education sector (from Early Years to adults) since the start of the century. Nicole worked with a range of national and international charities and organisations. Prior to The GEC, this included the role of Digital Education Specialist for educational charity Achievement for All, Project Leader for a national Microsoft literacy research project and writer for The Guardian, Innovate My School and Teachwire. She was awarded a place on the EdTech50 (2018) as one of the fifty leading pioneers in the UK EdTech sector. Nicole is passionate about inclusive on and offline - and that this will only happen through collaboration, conversation and immediate action. She believes it's time to get #SmashingStereotypes; to promote the awesome in everyone - in the media, in education, in workplaces and in homes. Nicole is also co-lead for LeanInGirlsUK and a Steering Group member for MITEY (Men in the Early Years), and started a Doctorate in 2018 researching the UK's digital gender gap.
