This year MakeCode Saturday showcased the following four sessions!

10-11am MakeCode for micro:bit

Microbit

We showcased the little device that’s making a big impact in CS education around the world! We showed attendees how to create MakeCode projects with the micro:bit and how they could gain access to a curriculum with the necessary resources to take into the classroom!

11-12pm MakeCode for Minecraft

Minecraft

We showed our attendees how to make it rain chickens, control their Agent robot, and build mini-games all within Minecraft! In this workshop, attendees received demonstrations to create simple mods in Minecraft and got access to curriculum and resources they can use in their classrooms.

1-2pm MakeCode Arcade

Arcade

Microsoft MakeCode Arcade is a 2D game development environment entirely online. We showed attendees how to create simple sprite-based games and gain access to a curriculum and resources that they could take with them into the classroom.

2-3pm MakeCode for LEGO MINDSTORMS

MINDSTORMS

This workshop focused on the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 robot.  Using robotics to teach computer science concepts is a powerful way to engage every student in computational thinking.  In this workshop, attendees worked in groups to complete challenges with their robots!

We hope to see you at Microsoft MakeCode next year!
