  • Sustainable Growth
Partners receive a Tower Garden growing unit, supporting education document and the option of session facilitation. Participants begin their journey as scientists before becoming farmers, then chefs and eventually consumers. Objectives of Sustainable Growth Objective 1: Introduce children to an alternative method of food production: “Using aeroponics—the same technology NASA uses—Tower Garden grows plants with only water and nutrients rather than soil. Grow more in less time and with fewer resources. This system has been shown to increase yields by as much as 30% and triple the speed of growth, while using only 10% of the water and space. Grow inside the classroom. Grow lights allow you to garden indoors all year long. Less mess. There’s less hassle and clean up because it doesn’t use soil. Portable learning. You can wheel Tower Garden from the classroom to the cafeteria to the playground! Objective 2: Encourage children to eat more fresh food: The vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants found in vegetables will: • Promote good health and protect against disease, both now and in the future. • Ensure healthy growth and development. • Strengthen the immune system and help fight illnesses Objective 3: Teach the UN Sustainable Development Goals alongside the growing programme Our creative and innovate unique curriculum engages learners of all abilities and backgrounds. Pupils begin their journey as scientists, then learn to be farmers before becoming chefs
