Faronics Wise are inviting schools across the UK to join their EA Programme.22 Jan 2019 Faronics EMEA Ltd.
Originally created in 2006, Faronics Wise was designed primarily as a web-based teaching, learning and communication platform for hospitalised students. The objective at the time was to provide a secure location in which personal and curriculum data could reside and also a means by which families could follow the progress of their child and communicate with teaching staff.
Today, with the help of our partner schools, Faronics Wise has evolved into a comprehensive web-based MIS platform, providing a very cost-effective and efficient solution to the many challenges facing mainstream schools, alternative provision providers, PRUs and special education establishments in the UK. The overall objective for the Faronics Wise team has always been to provide an agile and intuitive platform with tools that not only integrate with existing systems, but also consolidate costly software applications and manual paper and pen processes. Partnering with schools in the UK has really helped the Faronics Wise team to optimise the way in which school data is managed. By simplifying numerous admin tasks and creating intuitive teaching and learning tools using our school partners’ feedback, we are able to steer our technology in the direction our customers need it to go.
Situated on the outskirts of Reading, Berkshire, Cranbury College is a 132-place alternative curriculum provider, including a Hospital Teaching Service, Behaviour Support Team, Secondary and Primary PRU, Individual Learning Programmes, and Post-16 provision. Cranbury College provides a unique learning environment to meet the needs of some of Reading’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, offering bespoke individual learning packages to those with complex needs and those who have difficulties accessing any of the College’s sites.
Led by the Head Teacher Mandy Wilton, the senior leadership team strive to ensure that each young person has every opportunity to succeed and with an increasing demand on staff workload in both the school office and the classroom, Cranbury College needed to find a more agile management information system that would not only enable them to store staff and pupil data digitally, but also simplify the overall management of the schooling day. The team at Faronics played a crucial role in providing Cranbury College with the confidence to move their systems to the Faronics Wise platform, providing the support, training and expertise required to ensure that every member of staff benefited from the new system. Since partnering with Faronics in 2016, Cranbury College have truly embraced Faronics Wise and continue to benefit from the many intuitive features that a modern MIS platform can provide. For Faronics Wise, being able to work with forward thinking educators like the Cranbury College leadership team has been a fantastic experience. Our success in providing a unique teaching environment like Cranbury College with the tools they need to modernise is very exciting for Faronics Wise! But delivering our solution successfully and supporting our customers fully thereafter is what defines us.
It’s never an easy decision for leadership teams like Cranbury College to look for alternative ways to manage their data, especially in teaching environments that support young people with complex learning challenges and special education needs. In many situations the challenges around change management can cause very real concerns and even form a barrier for schools looking to progress towards a more modern and efficient solution. Working directly with a great many education environments has provided the Faronics Wise team with a very real insight into how inefficient and expensive some systems can be, so for Faronics it’s a matter of steering each and every customer through the process of adopting our technology successfully and then ensuring that our on-going relationship with each customer is solid and reliable.
At Faronics our aim is to give any school looking for a modern change to data management the confidence to work with us, so as part of our ongoing development plans in 2019/20, Faronics are providing the opportunity for a limited number of schools in the UK to join our EA programme. There will be no financial cost for taking part, and every school that participates will receive unlimited access to their own customised Faronics Wise platform. There will be a comprehensive training and support programme for each school and the Faronics Wise team will ensure that all teaching, admin and support staff members are suitably proficient on the platform.
