Peer-on-peer abuse cannot not be seen in isolation without taking into consideration the wider complexities or systemic safeguarding failings that put children and young people at risk.
At the moment there is a great focus on peer-on-peer abuse in schools, but it does not just happen in schools and there cannot be a singular point of focus on the education sector.
The wider complexities and systemic safeguarding issues that directly contribute to an increase of societal peer-on-peer abuse are so often overlooked. Peer-on-peer abuse is one piece of a much bigger safeguarding puzzle and in order to protect those most vulnerable we must take a joined-up approach.
Join Emily Konstantas, Founder of the Safeguarding Alliance to gain a deeper understanding of the wider context of peer-on-peer abuse so that your institution can develop a more joined-up approach to ensuring the safety of all learners.
