Aims • Re-visit the use of IWBs as an interactive tool to impact on writing • Identify how and when IWBs and their software supports the writing process • Exemplify how IWBs and IWB software can be used to best effect during modelled, shared, guided and independent learning In this seminar we will be looking beyond the IWB as a fixed object on the wall and exemplifying how, with careful planning both the board and the software can be vital tools in raising attainment in writing. The challenge of utilising IWB software to overcome pupils’ potential barriers to learning in writing and how to transfer IWB use from the front of the class into the hands of pupils across literacy sessions will be at the heart of the session. A comprehensive resource to exemplify best practice in the use of IWBs to support writing will be shared.

  • Bill Lord, National Strategies, Regional Adviser
