With a passion for innovation Gill has led on the collaborative development of cross-institution e-learning projects across the education sector.  Based in Manchester she has led and advised on a number of large projects including the Greater Manchester Common Application Process that is now the established common application tool, UCAS Progress. 

Working colleagues from higher education and JISC, she championed and supported the development of XCRi(European standard for course information) to improve the quality of course information for interoperable systems in HE institutions.  She has co-published on in the Centre for Recording for achievement on e-portfolio and her work on GMSA Pathways, a progression tool for over 10,000 learners across GM, was highlighted in the final review of the Hefce Lifelong Learning Project.

In her current role she has led on a cross-group ENiGMA project to develop virtual “communities of practice” to improve the teaching of learning of English and maths.
