Naace and Bett join forces to create national network of schools to drive excellence and champion ICT in schools

Who is Naace?

Naace is the ICT association - a community of educators, technologists and policy makers who share a vision for the role of technology in advancing education. Members include teachers, school leaders, advisors and consultants working within and across all phases of UK education. Naace help to develop ICT in schools and runs the ICT Mark, supported by The Department for Education.

What is the ICT Mark Network?

Working at an accredited school, you know that the ICT Mark helps schools remain focused on the journey of continual improvement in the use of technology across the curriculum. Currently, almost 1,300 schools are enjoying the benefits of accreditation. This is a good start, however we want many more schools to gain from getting involved.

We are inviting you and your school to help to take the ICT Mark programme to the next level, widening the participation to many more schools and building supportive networking and learning communities of like-minded educators all over the UK.

We are asking your school to become a 'Champion', reaching out to other schools in your local area to offer inspiration, information and guidance in the area of effective technology-enhanced learning.

Champion schools will launch local networking communities, inviting neighbouring schools to observe best practice in action and join lively discussion sessions face-to-face and online. By doing this, the Champion schools will raise the profile of the ICT Mark and communicate the benefits of accreditation.

Schools then wishing to seek ICT Mark accreditation will be guided through the process and encouraged to use the Naace Self-review Framework tool.

Champion schools will also organise subsidised visits to Bett 2013, bringing new groups of visitors to the event. Champions will help Bett first-time visitors to maximise the value of their trips, offering guidance on workshops, seminars and technology demonstrations best suited to the visitors CPD needs.
